A Real-World Experience
For students at Wellington Point State High School, a visit to Redland Hospital wasn’t just a field trip, it was a hands-on introduction to the world of healthcare.
Through interactive workshops and behind-the-scenes tours, students discovered the wide range of careers that keep a hospital running, from nursing and allied health to environmental services and operations.
They practiced CPR, learned about maternity care, and even explored how support teams like maintenance and safety contribute to patient outcomes.
“There’s so much more to health careers than people realise. Every role — from the cleaner to the doctor — is important.” – Eve, Student
“It was so great to be encouraged to have a go at things.” – Erica, Student
This experience was made possible thanks to the Redlands Regional Jobs Committee’s partnership with Transdev, whose support for free transport removed one of the key barriers to students accessing in-industry opportunities.
It’s another example of how RRJC is working behind the scenes to connect students with local industries and help grow a confident, future-ready workforce for Redlands.
The Redlands Regional Jobs Committee is proudly supported and funded by the Queensland Government.
