Introducing the Redlands Coast Jobs Hub

Connecting local people with local opportunity

Strong local economies depend on strong local connections. When businesses can access the skills they need and people can find meaningful work close to home, communities are better placed to grow and adapt.

That principle underpins the work of the Redlands Regional Jobs Committee and has guided the development of the Redlands Coast Jobs Hub. The platform has been created to connect local people with local jobs, addressing workforce attraction challenges across the region, offering a practical, place-based response.

Addressing workforce challenges where they occur

Across the Redlands Coast, employers continue to experience recruitment and retention pressures, while jobseekers often lack visibility of the opportunities available within their own communities. This disconnect limits participation and weakens local workforce pipelines.

The Redlands Coast Jobs Hub has been developed to improve alignment by creating a central point where local roles, local talent and workforce pathways are visible and accessible. By strengthening local reach and relevance, the Hub supports better-informed decisions and more effective connections.

Designed to complement existing recruitment channels, its purpose is not volume, but connection, supporting both immediate hiring needs and longer-term workforce planning.

The role of the Redlands Regional Jobs Committee

The Jobs Hub is one element of the Redlands Regional Jobs Committee’s wider role as a connector between people, industry and opportunity. Proudly supported and funded by the Queensland Government, the Committee works with employers, educators, training providers and community partners to identify workforce challenges and deliver locally relevant solutions.

This work aligns with the Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022–2032, which recognises that effective workforce planning must be responsive to regional conditions. The Redlands Coast Jobs Hub demonstrates how statewide priorities can be applied meaningfully at a local level.

The launch of the Jobs Hub coincides with the introduction of a standalone website that brings the Committee’s programs, resources and insights together in one place, strengthening coordination and reinforcing the Committee’s role as a trusted source of regional workforce leadership.

The value of local solutions

Workforce participation, retention and skills development are most effective when solutions reflect the realities of the place. By focusing on pathways aligned to local industries, communities and future demand, the Redlands Coast Jobs Hub supports stronger retention, reduced commuting pressures and deeper workforce participation.

These outcomes are central to building a resilient local economy and a future-ready workforce for the Redlands Coast.
